DSWD, NTF for COVID-19 rolls out Hatid Tulong Part 2
As part of its continuing response to the call of President Rodrigo Roa-Duterte to send Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) back to their provinces, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) joins the National Task Force for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (NTF for COVID-19), and concerned government agencies, in rolling out the Hatid Tulong Program, to assist and transport Locally Stranded Individuals (LSIs) in Metro Manila back to their home provinces.
As Vice-Chair of the Disaster Response Pillar under the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), DSWD leads the Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) Cluster, Food and Non-Food Item (FNFI) Cluster, and Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Protection Cluster for the Hatid Tulong Program Part 2.
The DSWD provided P2,000 each to 4,716 LSIs at the Rizal Memorial Stadium, Vito Cruz, Malate, Manila on July 25, 2020 (1,795), July 26, 2020 (1,960) and July 27, 2020 (961).
In addition, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) provided meals to 500 LSIs temporarily accommodated at the Pleasant View Residences, San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, amounting to P153,499.99.
The DRMB Operations Center (OpCen) is in 24/7 virtual operation to closely monitor and coordinate with the National Resource and Logistics Management Bureau (NRLMB) and DSWD Field Offices for significant updates on response operations relative to COVID19.
