The Department of Social Welfare and Development – DSWD Disaster Response Management Group (DRMG) facilitated the delivery of two Water Tanker Truck units on 16 April 2025. These Water Tanker Truck units will be instrumental in providing potable drinking water to displaced families during the onslaught of disasters where sources of clean water are unavailable.
Following the earlier distribution of Mobile Kitchen units to all DSWD Field Offices (FOs), the Water Tanker Truck units will be initially deployed to DSWD FO 7 and the Negros Island Region (NIR) as part of the ongoing Kanlaon response operations.

In preparation for the delivery of the said disaster response vehicles, a pre-dispatch briefing was conducted for the deployment team, covering key aspects such as vehicle handling, safety protocols and coordination with receiving field offices.
Each Water Tanker Truck has a capacity of 10,000 liters and is specifically designed to transport large volumes of potable water. During disaster response, these trucks are crucial for collecting water from approved sources and delivering it to evacuation centers or areas affected by water shortages.
