Quezon City – The DSWD Disaster Response Management Group (DRMG), under the guidance and leadership of Usec. Diana Rose S. Cajipe, Asec. Marlon A. Alagao, Dir. Michael Cristopher R. Mathay, and Asst. Bureau Director Rey E. Martija, together with the DSWD Field Offices (FOs), conducted a workshop on Work and Financial Planning (WFP) for Fiscal Year 2024 on 11-15 September 2023.

The workshop was facilitated by the Learning Management Team from the Disaster Response Management Bureau (DRMB) and the National Resource and Logistics Management Bureau (NRLMB). It was attended by the budget and planning officers of Disaster Response Management Divisions (DRMDs) from each DSWD FO.

The workshop aimed to harmonize the Work and Financial Plans of the DRMB and NRLMB, and its counterpart in the field offices with guidance from other Offices, Bureaus, Services, and Units (OBSUs) in the department to ensure proper targeting and implementation of physical and financial plans.

It also aimed to closely link planning and budgeting and ensure that priority activities of the DRMG Cluster per calendar year are correspondingly translated into budgetary terms.

The activity was also attended by invited resource speakers to provide technical assistance in the formulation of work and financial plans: Ms. Rizza Jane F Francisco-Azucena (Social Welfare Officer IV from Policy Development and Planning Bureau); Atty. Karina Antonette A. Agudo, CESE (Service Director of Administrative Service); and Atty. Meriel P. Castillo (Assistant Service Director of Financial Management Service).

The conduct of this workshop is one of the strategies of the DRMG to help align the agency’s programs and services with its strategic objectives in ensuring the continuous enhancement and delivery of DSWD response capacities towards improved disaster response capabilities.
